Tata Projects awarded contract to build BPCL’s 2G ethanol plant in Odisha

In India, the ANI news agency reports that Tata Projects has been selected by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited to build its second generation, 100,000 liter per day ethanol plant in Odisha that will use rice straw as feedstock but will be tested using corn stalks. The national government has been pushing for more 2G ethanol production to fill the gap between demand and what sugarcane mills can supply while also trying to reduce crop waste burning that led to significant air pollution challenges late last year.
