In Thailand, the Bangkok Post reports that although the government is going to go through with planned phasing out of subsidies for both biodiesel and ethanol, it is going to revise the State Oil Fund Act that manages the subsidies over the next two years that will allow more subsidization of the fuels. The government plans to continue supporting sugarcane, cassava and palm oil feedstocks for biofuels. Recently the government decided to phase out B10 in favor of B20. Key to the amended policy will be how to tackle biofuel smuggling, however.
