Vitruvian Energy launches IndieGoGo campaign to test 20% EBB blend

November 25, 2014 |

In California, Vitruvian Energy is seeking $200,000 through an IndieGoGo campaign to demonstrate its ethyl-3-ethoxybutyrate (EEB) production process and to test the fuel in a 20% blend in Seattle during a year. The company produces EBB by fermenting biosolids from wastewater treatment plants and adding them to a bacteria that turns them into PHA, which is then mixed with ethanol. The company says the fuel has a 70% lower GHG footprint than fossil fuels.
