Iowa hits ethanol production record in 2014 of 3.9 billion gallons

In Iowa, the state produced a record 3.9 billion gallons of ethanol in 2014 from 43 facilities, in large part thanks to a bumper corn crop that brought the price of feedstock down to create very profitable margins. High gas prices for much of the year as well as increased demand for ethanol exports also led to a sterling year.
