Sunoco Ethanol gets new craft malting roommate

In New York state, Sunoco Ethanol is getting what everyone dreams of, its own craft malting facility on site. The owners of 1886 Malt House have invested $12 million to set up a craft malting facility co-located at the Sunoco Ethanol facility—already a former Miller brewing plant—so it can share resources such as lab and maintenance teams. Though there is some concern people won’t like the idea of their malts bring produced in an ethanol plant, the facilities are separate and it’s only the infrastructure they’re sharing.
