In Italy, Venice will begin a seven-month trial in April using 15% blending of used cooking oil-based biodiesel in its waterbuses that travel the city’s famous canals. Eni will be supplying it’s Eni Diesel+ fuel in part produced from UCO collected in Venice by local utility Veritas, which is responsible for collecting and processing waste in the city. Much of the city’s air pollution is caused by the waterbuses, as well as cruise ships that visit the region.
