In India, just days after the government restricted imports of biofuels, the Financial Express reports that biofuel exports have been restricted now as well and will only be allowed with a license. Biodiesel exports doubled this year to nearly $5.4 million compared to last year. Previously, biofuel policy hadn’t encouraged and in some cases discouraged use of biodiesel, leaving producers no choice but to export but now regulations have changed to create a domestic market for the fuel.
