Snam doubles the hydrogen concentration in their natural gas networks only months after hydrogen’s experimental introduction
In Italy, Snam, an energy infrastructure company, experimentally introduced hydrogen a few months ago into its natural gas transmission network, but following this successful introduction of hydrogen, they have now doubled that concentration to 10%. This addition of hydrogen to their transported gas network could result in a 5 million ton reduction in carbon emissions. In a Snam-McKinsey study, hydrogen could meet 23% of the Italian Energy demand by 2050 in a 95% decarbonization ratio.
