Marubeni Corporation and Abu Dhabi sign MoU to establish a hydrogen society
In Tokyo, Marubeni Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy of the UAE to collaborate on establishing a hydrogen-based society, as well as the pursuit of efficient water and electricity use. This MoU will provide the information necessary to determine if hydrogen production that utilizes renewable energy is technically commercially viable. Both parties will jointly explore research, development, and proofs of concept related to the development of a hydrogen society, as well as share their respective expertise in renewable energy, hydrogen production, supply, and distribution. Since solar does not generate reliable volumes of power, temporary hydrogen storage may be a reasonable solution for regions with a climate like Abu Dhabi.
