January 28, 2020 |

In Beijing, Yonhap News Agency reported that Hyundai Motor Company announced at the EV100 Forum its plan to produce hydrogen fuel-cell commercial vehicles in its Chinese plant to make inroads to the local electric vehicle market. This will help Hyundai achieve its goal of selling 10,100 Nexo hydrogen passenger cars in 2020, a sharp increase from the 4,194 fuel-cell vehicles it sold last year. Today, Hyundai produces 1.05 million vehicles in China out of its 3.74 million total vehicles produced last year. By 2030, Hyundai hopes to establish a production facility capable of rolling out 50,000 hydrogen-powered vehicles a year by 2030.
