Biofuels Digest Index slips 0.35 percent to 68.73 as ethanol stocks gyrate

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, slipped 0.35 percent to 68.73 as ethanol stocks gyrated.  For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) lost 0.97 percent to $32.57, while BlueFire Renewables (BFRE.OB) gained 16.67 percent to $0.35 on a second day of enthusiasm following news of a new feedstock contract. Among other equities, Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) dropped 10.10 percent to $0.89. Overall, advances led declines 5 to 4 for the day.
