Wyoming Ethanol assessed $49,000 EPA fine

In Wyoming, Wyoming Ethanol has been assessed a $49,000 fine from the EPA for failing to maintain a sufficient risk management program for the flammable chemicals handled at the plant. CEO of Renova Energy, Wyoming Ethanol’s parent company, claimed that the violations were the result of simple “oversights” at the plant: “In today’s environment, any hit’s a hit,” he said. “It’s not going to put us out of business, but yeah, we feel it.”
