Earthoil launches sustainable ethanol for use in cosmetics line

In Brazil, Earthoil has launched ethanol production from organic, fair trade certified sugarcane produced at a family farm in San Antonio that will be used in its cosmetics line, from personal care products to fragrances. The sugarcane production method includes management practices that promote diversity while green harvesting using mechanization has replaced cane burning. The company has embarked on a retraining program for those cane cutters no longer needed following introduction of mechanized harvesting while children participate in a local weaving project.
