Vietnam puts the onus on local authorities to boost uptake of E5

November 4, 2015 |

In Vietnam, the government keeps releasing new programs and methods to encourage uptake of E5 at the pump following lack of demand by consumers. The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade is now putting the onus on state offices to ensure that E5 is available at pumps nationwide by the end of November. Currently E5 is sold in seven cities and provinces. PetroVietnam only plans to roll out nationwide by the end of 2016, while currently it supplies 359 E5 petrol retail stations in 52 cities and provinces.
