UNICA says 2015/16 crush highest on record

In Brazil, UNICA said the 2015/16 crush was the highest on record at 617.65 million metric tons, up more than 8% over the previous season, a record 28.22 billion liters of ethanol produced, more than 2 billion more than the previous record. Of the total ethanol production, anhydrous accounted for 17.58 billion liters while the remaining volume was hydrous ethanol, more than 13% more than the previous crush. The statistics were April to March, which includes the production in March from mills who began the crush early.
