POET suing ex-employee and Nelson Engineering for selling proprietary tech

March 7, 2017 |

In South Dakota, a former POET employee and Nelson Engineering have been sued in federal court by POET who claims the ex-employee broke a confidentiality agreement when he passed on the company’s proprietary fermentation technology with Nelson. What’s more, POET says that Nelson has been on-selling the technology received illegally to others in the industry. The company is demanding a jury trial for the case. POET’s Project Liberty in conjunction with DSM recently announced it will build an enzyme factory co-located at the biorefinery.
