UAE construction company gets solar-biodiesel hybrid system

In the UAE, for the first time in the Middle East, a hybrid solar-biodiesel installation has been installed at construction company Multiplex’s offices in the Dubai International Financial Centre. The system integrates 40kWp of solar panels with 200kWh of batteries using diesel generators as a back up, supplied by Neutral Fuels’ biodiesel, reducing diesel consumption 27% and 800 metric tons of carbon emissions annually. Multiplex began running biodiesel buses in 2014 as its first venture into transitioning to renewable energy.
