In Paraguay, local press reports that biodiesel blending of 2% will be mandatory as of January 1 in an effort to try to promote a local industry. Already ethanol is blended at between 25% and 27%, depending on the octane level of the fuel. Fueling stations in the country worked together with local stakeholders to develop a tracking system that would allow them to provide quality guarantees of the fuels provided in an effort to build confidence among consumers.
