Total scores French tax break for PFAD feedstock but NGOs complain

In France, Euractiv reports that Total has scored a win in the long running battle over tax incentives for palm oil products with the Directorate General of Customs recently adding Palm Fatty Acid Distillate to those on the list of tax exemptions, much to the dismay of environmental NGOs who believe that anything that comes from palm oil, including co-products such as PFAD should be banned, let alone receive tax exemptions. In response, NGOs have filed a complaint with the Council of State to get the new regulation changed.
