EPA administrator says still unsure how to handle blending waiver requests

In Washington, Reuters reports the Environmental Protection Agency is still undecided about what to do with waiver requests from the oil industry as they seek to reduce their biofuel blending obligations. Rather than individual waivers which have been under intense scrutiny, the industry as well as oil state governors and now oil state senators are asking the agency to issue overall waivers using the COVID-19 pandemic as the excuse. When asked directly if the agency had decided what it would do about the pending requests, the administrator told lawmakers in a hearing that he hasn’t yet.
