Top Tweets debuts on BIofuels Digest as twitter volume approaches "information overload"

September 6, 2010 |

Biofuels Digest is inaugurating a new section today: Top Tweets.

If you haven’t been following the growth of Twitter, its a short messaging service limited to 140-character “tweets”, which will amuse, inform, and in some cases drive you completely crazy.

But Twitter has become big. Last month, according to Royal Pingdom, Twitter processed 2.64 billion “tweets” in August, up 33 percent from May.

With that kind of volume, how do you separate the diamonds from the dust? Since 2007, that’s been the mission of the Digest on the web, and this week, we begin to track, digest and interpret Twitter. There are simply too many important voices on Twitter to ignore – but far too many for the busy professional to process.

So whether you are looking for the latest from Vinod Khosla, or from the Biofuels Twitterati who are knocking out dozen of tweets per day with opinion, news and humor, we’ll be covering the Top Tweets each day in the Digest, as well as profiling some of the Twitterati and their biofuels-oriented sessions such as “BioChat”.

So, if you don’t have the bandwidth to follow the latest on Twitter – worry not – your daily summary will give you best and the nuttiest tweets on bioenergy.
