Ethiopia has 207,180 hectares designated for biofuels projects

In Ethiopia, 18 companies have invested more than $180 million in biofuel projects across the country on 207,180 hectares. The investments have created 109,543 casual and permanent jobs. Project developers have also been offering training as well as distributing seed, fertilizer and chemical to farmers to enable them engage in similar development activities. The Ministry of Water and Energy says the country has 23 million hectares of land suitable for biofuels development.
