Biofuels Digest Index rises 1.24 percent to 28-month high of 80.85

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, rose 1.24 percent to a 28-month high of 80.85, continuing a Santa Claus rally and cresting the 80.00 mark for the first time since the global financial crisis of 2008. For the day, Amyris (AMRS) soared 12.84 percent to $27.25 on strong trading volume, while BlueFire Renewables (BFRE.OB) gained 9.30 percent to $0.47. Among other equities, Cosan (CZZ) jumped 3.99 percent to $13.82. Overall, advances led declines by 6 to 5 for the day.
