Sugarbeet reigns in Czech Republic as ethanol feedstock

In the Czech Republic, sugarbeet is regaining popularity as a feedstock for ethanol. About half a million metric tons of beet was used for ethanol during the 2010 crop, which ended in January, up from 446,950 tons and 461,471 tons during 2009 and 2008.

The record was in 2007 with 566,166 tons.
