In California, Biotica Technology licensed its polyketide engineering technology to Amyris. Financial terms were not disclosed. “Biotica holds a dominant IP position in polyketide engineering technology, and we are delighted to be able to use their methods in our research” added Neil Renninger, Chief Technology Officer of Amyris.
More information on the use of polyketide synthases to produce advanced biofuels can be found in a research summary of work at JBEI, a DOE-sponsored lab supervised by Amyris co-founder Jay Keasling.
