US ethanol production up 23 percent in 2010

In Washington, the Energy Information Agency says 2010 ethanol production hit a record of nearly 13.23 billion gallons, up from 10.75 billion gallons in 2009. Daily ethanol production in 2010 averaged nearly 863,000 barrels per day. Imports for 2010 stood at slightly more than 9.7 million gallons, down significantly from 193 million gallons in 2009.
