Iowa Power Fund OK's $1.5M for waste veggie oil biodiesel project

In Iowa, the Iowa Power Fund Board has approved $1.5 million for Growth Design Energy Mt. Valley to build its 3MGY non-food waste oils-to-biodiesel facility in Forest City. The fund also approved more than $600,000 for the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Services to expand existing Green Corps and AmeriCorps programs to support the training of Iowa veterans to implement energy efficiency improvement programs to the homes of the low-income, elderly and veterans.
