Bonsucro sustainable sugarcane standard signs SCS as certifier

In California, Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) is now an accredited certification body for the Bonsucro standard for sustainable sugarcane. SCS can now offer Bonsucro certification to sugarcane growers and processors wishing to assure buyers that their products meet rigorous environmental and social standards.

Demand for sustainable sugarcane has been driven by large corporate supporters including Coca Cola, Kraft Foods and Bacardi. Major oil companies including Shell are also driving demand for certified sugarcane products as they increase investment in sustainable biofuels.
