Toyota to South Africa: increase biofuels for job growth

August 26, 2011 |

In England, Toyota’s South Africa CEO, Dr. Johan van Zyl, stated that South Africa needed to increase its efforts to get biofuels into their fuel supply.  Dr. Zyl commented that 50,000 more jobs could be created just by reaching a 2% biofuel mix in South Africa’s national fuel supply mix.  He further stated that Kenya was a good example on how to scale up biofuel production.  Dr. Zyl made his comments at the 2011 South Africa Automotive Week conference in East London.
