Netherlands ethanol venture sweeps up Dutch beet crop

In the Netherlands, Suiker Unie’s ethanol plant in Aklam expects to slice 1.4 million metric tons of sugarbeet this season to produce roughly 64 million liters of ethanol, accounting for half of the beet crop, in addition to 112,000 tons of sugar under quota.

Ethanol produced at the facility will be sold to refineries in Schwedt and Leuna.
