Maple Leaf Reforestation launches yellowhorn biodiesel project in British Columbia

November 2, 2011 |

In Canada, Maple Leaf Reforestation plans to open a biodiesel production facility in British Columbia using yellowhorn tree as a feedstock.

The company says the tree, originally from China, has a 7-11 times greater oil yield per acre when compared to conventional oil seeds which it expects to translate to a 50% lower feedstock cost. To get the project off the ground, the company needs to raise $3 million.
