Sugarbeet ethanol group awaits California decision on $5M grant

In California, former sugarbeet growers in the San Joaquin Valley expect to hear in the next month if California Energy Commission will grant $5 million for the feasibility study that will lead to their planned 36 million gallon $200 million ethanol facility in Mendota. The feasibility study will be for a $5 million pilot facility that will use 250 acres of beet.
