Zeal Optics switches to bio-based resins for sunglasses

In Colorado, Zeal Optics is making all their sunglass frames from Z-Resin, a bio-based plastic made from castor bean oil.   Zeal touts the fact that the castor plant as an efficient, extremely fast-growing perennial that’s easy to grow, withstands drought and thrives on marginal lands.
