Vietnam’s ethanol exports expected to jump

May 30, 2012 |

In Vietnam, PetroVietnam expects ethanol exports to jump this year failing the government’s implementation of an ethanol policy. The company has invested $270 million in ethanol production with a total capacity of 300 million liters annually to supply the local market against promises by the government for a local blending policy, but the 2007 plan is still in its implementation phase. During 2011 the company only sold 20 million liters domestically with the rest exported.
