Ecopetrol to invest 91% in new sugarcane ethanol facility

In Colombia, local company Bioenergy plans to invest $240 million in an ethanol plant in Puerto Lopez and plant 14,000 hectares with sugarcane to supply the facility. State-owned Ecopetrol is putting in 91% of the funding for the project while the rest will be held by minority investors.
