Biofuels Digest Index jumps to 76.07 as ethanol equities surge

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, gained 0.32 percent to 76.07 as ethanol equities surged. For the day, Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) rocketed up 17.69 percent to $4.99, while Aemetis (AMTX) fell 7.32 percent to $0.38. Among other equities, Biofuel Energy (BIOF) jumped 10.34 percent to $4.59. Overall, advances led declines 3 to 2 for the day.
