May 27, 2013 |

In Iowa, three cars and a locomotive derailed into Little Cedar River east of Charles City, leaking about 49,000 gallons of ethanol into the water. Three of the 80-car train were transporting ethanol and two of the three leaked. Monitoring of the creek showed normal oxygen levels as far as 20 miles downstream from the accident and dead fish hadn’t been reported.
