Precision BioSciences files patent infringement lawsuit against Lonza related to GS XceedM gene expression system

June 6, 2013 |

In North Carolina, Precision BioSciences announced that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Lonza Group and a number of its affiliates in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. The lawsuit seeks a ruling that Lonza’s importation into the United States and the use, offer for sale, and sale in the United States of the GS Xceed Gene Expression System and CHOK1SV knock-out cell line infringe U.S. Patent No. 8,377,674, which applies Precision BioSciences’ Directed Nuclease Editor genome editing technology.

The lawsuit requests monetary damages as well as a permanent injunction preventing Lonza from importing the GS Xceed Gene Expression System and CHOK1SV knock-out cell line into the United States and from using, selling or offering to sell those materials in the United States.
