South Africans want to be sure they benefit from bagasse electricity

In South Africa, the government should decide by December RFPs provided by sugar mills last week to produce and supply sugarcane-based bagasse to the national grid. Mills could provide 800MW of electricity from existing bagasse supplies but the government has yet to respond with a feed-in tariff that would bring in the required investment.
