Spirit AgEnergy groundbreaking set for Aug. 9

In North Dakota, the $150 million Spirit AgEnergy is set for groundbreaking on Aug. 9. The 65 million gallon facility is expected to be commissioned in January 2015, and will use 23 million bushels of corn annually. The facility will use steam from Spiritwood Station, an electricity generation plant in Minnesota that is currently mothballed. The power plant will also come back online in January 2015.
