Adecoagro boosts ethanol production by 89% on year

In Brazil, some mills are pushing further ahead with ethanol production over sugar, betting that ethanol prices will draw better margins thanks to increased domestic demand. Adecoagro, for example, has almost doubled its ethanol production year-on-year, with 61% of its cane for ethanol. Cane production was up 78% on the year during April to June, with 1.8 million metric tons crushed. Ethanol production was up 89% on the year at 78 million liters.
