In Iowa, Plymouth Energy Ethanol says that using Enogen corn at the 50 million gallon ethanol plant in Merrill could save the company $1 million a year thanks to increased processing efficiencies while boosting its production. The company’s CEO says the alpha amylase that’s in the Enogen corn changes the viscosity of the crushed corn drastically, going from being like porridge to being like lemonade.
