UK study determines which feedstocks should qualify for multiple counting

December 17, 2013 |

In the UK, the Dept. for Transport commissioned a report from E4Tech that is a first holistic analysis of the whole list of potential advanced biofuel feedstocks to determine which should be considered for multiple counting under blending mandates. It gathers consistent information and defines a rationale for including feedstocks within Annex IX using a clear set of criteria. This evidence base will help inform the UK’s ongoing negotiations with other EU Member States, the Department for Transport’s longer-term biofuels’ strategy, as well as the eligibility criteria for the 2014 UK advanced biofuels demonstration competition.
