USAID Announces Winners of $13 Million Clean Tech Award for “Powering Agriculture”

In Washington, the U.S. Agency for International Development, in partnership with the Swedish Government, Duke Energy Corporation, the German Government, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, announced the 12 organizations that will collectively receive $13 million in funding under Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development. One such award went to Camco Advisory Services which will work in Benin and Tanania.

Accorrding to the Powering Agriculture Website, Camco, working with Village Industrial Power will design biomass burning mini-grid plants to generate between 10 and 50kw facilities. Powering Agriculture states that awards are between $800,000 and $1.2 million, but did not disclose the specific amount awarded to Camco.
