In Germany, the European farmers union Copa-Cogeca is calling on European legislators to implement a stable framework for biofuels, or else risk losing the positive impacts on the region’s rural areas.
Copa-Cogeca highlighted the major benefits of biofuels for the environment, for the economy, for animal feed, for growth and jobs in EU rural areas and called for a consistent EU policy at a major conference held in the auspices of Berlin Green Week today. Copa-Cogeca warned that if the EU cuts its biofuel targets it will fail to meet its EU energy and climate change goals.
