UK start-up to produce biofuel from London coffee grinds

In the UK, a new start-up called Bio-Bean has won an award from London mayor Boris Johnson’s new green entrepreneur scheme London Leaders for its innovative business model to produce biofuel and fertilizer from large-scale collection and processing of coffee grounds from the city’s coffee shops. The large-scale processing site in North London is set to come online in the next six to eight months.
