Dubai to expand biodiesel bus fleet to 118 by year’s end

In the UAE, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority will expand its green bus fleet to 118 vehicles by the end of the year. The RTA first trialed a biodiesel bus in 2012 and since then has been expanding its fleet to include more biodiesel buses. The buses are supplied by Mercedes. Though using biodiesel lowers fuel costs by about 11%, the biodiesel supply isn’t always available, but the RTA is looking for ways to overcome those hurdles.
