Farmers suing Syngenta for losses following GMO-related Chinese export ban

In Nebraska, farmers have launched class-action lawsuits against Syngenta regarding the Chinese ban on DDGS produced from GMO corn that isn’t approved there. Lawsuits were filed on Friday in at least five states. Cargill and Trans Coastal Supply have also filed similar suits. Since traces of MIR162 corn were found in November 2013 in shipments arrived in China, Chinese imports of US corn have dropped by 85%.
