In Nebraska, construction will soon start on building KAAPA Ethanol’s new concrete storage silos, following major destruction to the two steel-based silos that suffered from strong winds during Father’s Day this year as well as last year. The new bins will hold about 625,000 bushels each, just like the steel bins, and should be completed around July. The company is also investing $4 million in an additional 3 million gallons of ethanol storage, though the investment isn’t related to the storm damage.
