Platts says Brazilian ethanol prices up 7% since gas tax announcement

In Brazil, Platts says ethanol prices have surged 7% since the government announced higher gasoline taxes on Jan. 19. It takes 90 days for the new tax to come into place, so an existing tax will be raised from Feb. 1 during the intervening period to compensate.
